Stories!

Stories of ordinary people who listened to Jesus and were stirred to action.

“To know God and to make Him known” is the motto of Youth With A Mission. Here are stories of YWAMers especially stirred to action that makes God known among people who have never heard the Gospel: the world’s unreached.

Unreached peoples represent:

  • Two-thirds of the world’s population.
  • More than one and a half billion Muslim people.
  • Nearly one billion Hindu people.
  • Six hundred million Buddhist people.
  • Most have never heard the Good News about Jesus even one time.
  • They are often the poorest of the poor.
  • Diseases that have long had a cure elsewhere, run rampant in many of their communities.

We are going to them, whether in our own neighborhoods or in other nations—to bring the blessings of God’s Kingdom.

By sharing our stories, we can face challenges and celebrate victories together. May our enthusiasm for what God is doing among the unreached inspire you. The Apostle Paul wrote, “…your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action.” (II Corinthians 9:2) These were Paul’s words amid his exhortation to generously give to those in need. Our aim with this blog is to use our stories not only to inspire but to stir “most of (our readers) to action.” Let’s all get into this action!

Please note the number 2 in our name: Stirred 2 Action:

2 = The Great Commandment + The Great Commission.

  1. Love God and love others
  2. Make disciples who do the same

We can’t successfully do 1 of them unless we do 2 of them. We can’t do either unless we do both.

Our intent is not to glorify YWAM, but to use ourselves and experiences as examples, speaking through our “life-messages.” Paul wrote to the Thessalonians, “You know how we lived…you became imitators of us and of the Lord….”

Each story will paint a picture, making the blog an expanding gallery filled with glimpses of God’s Kingdom coming and His will being done in our needy world. You will be challenged, perhaps asking, “How about me? In what ways am I stirred to action?” We’ll offer links to websites and resources to help you keep taking the next step.

It’s because we all need to be regularly Stirred2Action.
